What does a day in your life at Cartier look like?

Every day is different, that is what makes the job interesting. My day really depends on the priority of the moment. One day I can work on an analysis to better nail consuming trends impacting my markets’ financials, the next I am evaluating the effects of opening a new boutique or helping my markets to build their budgets and presentations to management.
One thing I do very regularly is meeting with the local controllers to ensure I am up to date on their work priorities and financial performance.

What is the key to success in your role?

From my point of view, being curious is the key to fully understanding the markets we oversee and ensure we comprehend the reality of our business.
Also, as a person Finance, being reliable and accurate is for me an absolute necessity. Many actions and decisions are taken following financial assessments, so we need to ensure the right messages and relevant metrics are conveyed to the Executive Management.

What do you like most in your job?

I like the concrete aspect of my job. Every decision, every action and every political or economic event has an impact on Cartier’s financial statements. My role is to evaluate the magnitudes of those events and strive to deliver the highest return on investment.
I also like the fact we interact with a diversity of departments, markets and people in order to execute our daily duties.
Finally, my team is very knowledgeable and benevolent. My manager and colleagues are always available to advise me. I learn a lot by their side and I really value the opportunity I have to work in such a great work environment.

What attracted you to work at Cartier?

I liked the pioneer and audacity mindset that Cartier promotes. The continuous search of excellence which drives Cartier’s people is a daily motivation. I strongly identify with those values.
